KNIFE WORLD was founded in 1975 as a classified-only monthly publication, sort of the cutlery equivalent of "Shotgun News." In 1977, the St. Louis - based owner sold the fledgling publication to Doug and Houston Price, and relocated it to the heart of "knife country" in Knoxville, Tennessee, immediately expanding the content to include informative articles, show coverage, industry news and the like.
Within a few years, Knife World had begun to publish a few knife-related books, and then started stocking quality titles from other publishers. In time, Knife World's book department became as integral a part of the business as the publication itself, making Knife World Publications the go-to source for information on all sort of knives and related cutlery items.
While KNIFE WORLD has more recently added color to its pages, and the book offerings have grown to include over 50 titles and an out-of-print selection as well, nothing has changed in the way of our philosophy and dedication to collectors and enthusiasts everywhere.
